Beginning with her earliest works as a child, Franny Orphée was intrigued by animals of all species and varieties, becoming a recurring motif throughout her life’s work. In 2006, she turned her focus exclusively to various breeds of dogs, seeing the personality within the pedigrees, the subjects evoking an honesty and human-like emotional characteristics.
