Leaving Brooklyn and moving to Chicago in 2016, Franny Orphée visited the International Museum of Surgical Science and was fascinated by exhibits of anachronistic devices with odd and obscure purposes. Using pen and ink, she created a series of prosthetic arms based on displays of artificial limbs, creating fearsome and even nightmarish images.
